Intrafamilial Firearm Transfers
2nd Amendment Zone offers intrafamilial transfer services for firearms in California at both our Upland and Riverside locations.
Requirements
For all intrafamilial transfers we need the following:
- A dated letter from the family member stating: “I, [NAME], am gifting the following [FIREARM TYPE] [MAKE] and [MODEL] with serial number [SERIAL] to my [RELATIONSHIP] as a gift.”
- A copy of the family member’s driver’s license (the person shipping/gifting)
- Contact information for both parties
Important Rules
Transfers can only happen up and down the family tree — father/mother/grandparent and NOT brother/sister/cousin.
Possession Requirement: Your family member must physically receive the firearm first before sending it to our store. Items cannot be ordered online and shipped directly to 2nd Amendment Zone — the item must go to your family member first, then to us.
Costs
- Intrafamilial paperwork: $55
- Transfer fee: $60
- State of California DROS Fee: $37.19
- No CA Sales Tax To Be Collected
Total: $115 + DROS ($37.19)
